I am a huge fan of the japanese anime/manga franchise Naruto. I have been watching and reading Naruto since it came over to America, and when part two of the series Shippuden was taking so long i went online and read the mangas and watch the original shippuden with english subtitles. I enjoy it quite a lot and im satisfied with where it is going. HOWEVER! I was on the official website a few months back and saw a newsflash, it said "Naruto Shippuden is coming to Disney XD!!". Was I excited? NO! why? well its simple, now before I begin let me make this clear; this is STRICLY my opinion. I dont portray this as fact ok? so dont go nuts over this please.
Now first off this is Disney were talking about, ya know the happiest place on earth, the kid friendly stuff, etc. Naruto on the other hand is ment for teenagers. why? its violent, sugestive, serious and is just plain NOT for kids. the american cut of the first part on Cartoon network was violent yes, but it was still very much cut. However it stayed true to its Japanese origins. Now shippuden was twice as gory and serious and sugestive as the first part, so how could this possible go on Disney XD? Simple! they cut ALL the blood violence, and censored all the sugestive themes. Now i know what you're thinking "This doesnt seem too bad!" Well Disney went the extra mile and cut TWO BATTLES FROM THE SHOW ENTIRLY!!! are you serious?!? thats ridiculous! that right there is the reason why I hate this dub, its TOO censored! Why the hell would they cut two battles? now this is bad because it basically makes the plot confusing! those two battles took more than 4 episodes, and they werent even that violent!
*Pant* *pant* now That episode part is just plain bull crap, was there any need to do that? If you're going to do that, then why show the show at all?! if you have to cut it that much then clearly its too violent for Disney! Oh ya and apparantly the Disney dub is rated PG, PFF HAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA!! Oh thats good. seriously the end result of Disney's dubbing doesnt add up to a PG rating, basically the dub doesnt do justice to the original, well thats at least my opinion, so I'll let you decide (for those who know this blog even exists) if the dub sucks or not, feel free to critisize or add more information!
ok bye!

First video game review: Mario Party Advance
For my first review, I'll be covering a game that I feel did NOT deserve the good reviews it got from some sites/television shows. This is a Game Boy Advance game called Mario Party Advance, and BOY does it suck in my opinion. The reason for this game not being very good is mainly concentrated in a few areas:
Control
Shroom City
E.Gadd's gadgets
Mini games
Music
This are the very reasons as to why I hate this game, Mario Party Advance could have been a very fun hand-held experience that you could enjoy with your friends, but the game feels unfinished.
Control-The controls in MPA feel broken and stiff. This is seen in in most of the mini games where you are either A) chasing something B) racing C) trying to execute jumps in the platforming mini games or games that just simply require jumping. Not once did I feel like I had control of any of the characters actions, ususally resulting in losing the match or doing something stupid. The biggest example of the stiff control scheme is during the mini game where you are driving a boat trying to save uki ukis. steering is an absolute NIGHTMARE.
Shoom City-This is where I was lead to belive that this game was an experiment gone wrong. What I mean is that party mode or battle royal is no where to be found in this game. The basic idea of Shroom city is that you pick from 4 characters (why only four I may never know) and depending on what character you choose from will determine where on the board you will start. You then go around completing missions thats right; no power stars to collect, no coins to save, no items to blow up your opponents, which is to say there ARE no opponents because shroom city is a one player only game. O ya and you have a limited amount of dice you can roll, you start with five and you can loose them very quickly.
You can literally game over in less than 5 minuets if you either A) roll really low numbers or B) run into Bowser jr. and he might take away some of your dice. The missions are generally frustrating or just plain boring. some of them can only be completed by certain characters, others involve traveling aross the entire damn board, only to run out of dice. Now whenever you complete a mission, you get a gadget made by Proffessor E. Gadd. I'll cover those in a minuete. Now then, every now and then you'll run into Bowser and he'll challange you to a match. if you win than hoorah, but if you loose you just basically wasted a turn.
E.Gadd's Gadgets- I can sum up the gadgets in two words: They suck! mainly due to the fact that there boring, not original and they basically serve no purpose. Most of the time you'll break your back trying to get one only to get "great" gadgets like.....Egg roll, or even....cake designer.....what a load.... And I'm NOT exagerating, all of the gadgets are boring, not original and just not fun to use, there basically unfinished mini games you can probably make using game maker. Oh and by the way I wrong when i said they serve no purpose, you CAN link to game boy advances together and trade them with another poor sap who was tricked into paying $40 for this piece of crap, you can do the same with mini games, speaking of....
Mini Games- Your probably thinking "What no way! crappy mini games in a mario party game?!" well yes thats sadly the case with MPA. some of them are some what playable, and a tiny bit original, most of them are either too simple or made into a fustrating oops! frustrating, (I sounded like the Bores for a minute) experience mainly due to the frustrating controls. Oh and remember when i said there are no opponents, well if you go to the duel tower and get the password right, you duel agains others in not a children's card game but duel mini games, the duel minigames are perhaps the best in the game, its just too bad there arent very many!
Music- I very much like video game music, and the soundtrack in this game is very poor. Most of the songs are just poor remixes of songs from mario party 3, and the few original songs that the game did offer gave me a mild headach. Not much more to say except the music sucks.
Overall- The bottom line is Mario Party Advance just sucks. It fails to give us a fun multiplayer game and instead gives us a handheld mess. And its sad because I LOVE the original Nintendo64 games and I was really looking forward to this, while its not the worst game ever made its definatly a very bad game, if you want a Mario game for the GameBoy Advance, you should play Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga if you havent already.
I hope you enjoyed! please comment!
